It was formed in 1923 as ''Football Union of Macedonia and Thrace'' ((ギリシア語:Ποδοσφαιρική Ένωση Μακεδονίας Θράκης)) and it administrated football in the regions of West Macedonia, Central Macedonia and East Macedonia and Thrace.
